5-Star Google Review

One of the best doctors I've ever known. Since I first met with Dr Peng in October 2017 she has been open and caring. She listens to me before she makes suggestions on my care. That's because I can see she really cares! Elaine Inhofer Wencl McManigle, 2020

What Is Included in a Mommy Makeover?

Your mommy makeover treatment plan will be customized based on your unique needs. In most cases, treatment includes a tummy tuck and breast procedure.

Tummy Tuck

The tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, procedure is the only effective and reliable way for women to address excess abdominal skin after pregnancy. During this body contouring procedure, Dr. Peng tightens the underlying  abdominal muscles and removes wrinkled skin to reduce bulging and produce a smoother appearance.

Breast Augmentation

Dr. Peng can improve the size and shape of your breasts with breast implants or a fat transfer procedure. Breast implants can benefit patients who want to add more volume to the breasts or have more control over the final outcome. The fat transfer procedure can benefit women who want to achieve a more subtle and natural-looking result.

Breast Lift

For many women, particularly those who have had multiple children, the breasts may begin to droop and the nipple can begin to point downward. Plastic surgeons can tighten the skin envelope and reposition the nipples to produce a more youthful and perky appearance. We can determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure during a consultation at our Plymouth office.

Breast Reduction

While some women lose breast volume in response to pregnancy, others gain volume. If you want to reduce the size of your breasts, Dr. Peng can perform breast reduction surgery to improve your proportions, reduce back pain, and enhance your overall quality of life.

Liposuction

This cosmetic surgery procedure is designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body. This is not a weight loss treatment. Instead, we use liposuction to remove unresponsive fat from one or two problem areas. We can determine if liposuction should be incorporated into your treatment plan during a consultation at our Plymouth practice.

The Mommy Makeover Recovery Period

Side Effects

Side effects like bruising, swelling, discomfort, and itching at the incision sites typically peaks at around three days after surgery. After this point, the side effects should begin to subside. It is important to note, however, that side effects can last for several weeks.

Medications

Patients typically take prescription or over-the-counter pain medications in the days and weeks after surgery. We may also prescribe antibiotics before or after surgery to reduce the risk of infection.

Bandages

We will remove your first set of bandages during your post-operative appointment at our Plymouth practice the day after surgery. We will provide you with specific instructions on cleaning and caring for the incision areas at this appointment.

Compression Garments

After breast and body contouring surgery, we provide patients with compression garments that minimize swelling and provide support for the healing areas. Patients should wear their compression garments for about three weeks after surgery.

When Can I Shower?

In most cases, patients can shower the day after surgery. However, many patients choose to wait at least 48 hours for the incisions to start to close over. If drains are placed, you will need to wait until they are removed before you can shower.

Returning to Work

We typically recommend that our patients take about two weeks off of work to recover from surgery. Patients who have strenuous jobs will need to take more time off of work.

Exercise

While light walking is encouraged after surgery, moderate to heavy exercise should be avoided for several weeks. Typically, patients can resume all of their normal activities about six weeks after surgery.

Another 5-Star Review

Dr. Peng is a wonderful doctor who is communicative, professional, and extremely reassuring. If you need a hand injury specialist I cannot reccomend her enough. I always feel well informed and listened to. She clearly cares for and respects her patients. TC, 2019
