JUVÉDERM
There are several different JUVÉDERM® products that can be used to restore facial volume, plump thin lips, and reduce the appearance of lines or wrinkles. JUVÉDERM injections contain hyaluronic acid. The effects of JUVÉDERM fillers can be expected to last between six and nine months.
Restylane
Restylane® is another brand of hyaluronic acid filler that can be used to add volume to lips, cheeks, and the areas around the mouth. An increasingly popular type of Restylane injectable is specifically designed to restore volume to the back of the hands. Like JUVÉDERM, the effects of Restylane injections last between six and nine months.
Sculptra
Sculptra® Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulates the production of collagen in the skin. Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA-approved for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is most often used to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds (lines extending from the edges of the nose to the corners of the mouth). The results of Sculptra Aesthetic injections appear gradually, but they can last for two years or longer.
RADIESSE
RADIESSE® dermal fillers contain calcium-based microspheres that stimulate natural collagen production. RADIESSE is FDA-approved for restoring lost volume to the face and the hands. The cosmetic results of RADIESSE injections are noticeable almost immediately and can last for one year or longer.

BOTOX Cosmetic
Our Minnetonka practice also offers BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® injections. These injectables work differently than fillers, but they are just as effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
While fillers like JUVÉDERM and Restylane add volume to the skin, BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport temporarily relax facial muscles, causing frown lines, crow's feet, and other wrinkles to soften and fade.
BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport relax muscles because they contain botulinum toxin. This substance is completely safe when administered in controlled amounts by a specialist like Dr. Peng.
Kybella
Kybella™ is an injectable medication that can reduce or eliminate fat under the chin, diminishing the appearance of a "double chin" and resulting in a refined, healthy-looking profile.
Kybella owes its effectiveness to deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule that destroys fat cells. When Kybella is injected into your chin area, fat cells will break down and be absorbed by your body. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve your aesthetic goals, but unlike other injectables, the results are permanent.

Longer-lasting fillers like Sculptra can cost almost $800 per syringe. If you combine your injectables with other cosmetic treatments, we may be able to offer a discount. We can provide an estimate for you and also accept CareCredit® financing.

How Long Do Injectables Last?
The effects of dermal fillers and botulinum toxin injections wear off over time. On average...
- Botulinum toxin (BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport) lasts three to six months.
- Hyaluronic acid (JUVÉDERM and Restylane) lasts six to nine months.
- Calcium hydroxylapatite (RADIESSE) lasts around one year.
- Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra Aesthetic) lasts around 25 months.
Once the effects of your treatment have faded, you can return to our Minnetonka office for another round of injections, or you can choose not to. Choosing not to undergo retreatment will not have any harmful effects on your skin or health but you will likely notice signs of aging return.
